'INFINITY' - Jan Doms in National Gallery Yerevan

datum bericht: 07-08-2026

At the initiative of the Armenian philosopher Davit Mosinyan, a symposium is being organized by the University of Yerevan in collaboration with the National Gallery in Yerevan. With the thematic title 'Contested Pasts, Uncertain Future(s)' – Heritage, Memory and History', the research focuses on how societies construct meaning from experiences of destruction, violence, and loss, and how these meanings shape collective identities and visions of the future.

All this in a world marked by genocide, war, cultural erasure, and ecological devastation; the conference calls into question the moral and epistemological responsibilities associated with telling and creating the past.

Artinsight, founded in Armenia by Hrachya and Avetik Vardanyan, was developed to strengthen the visibility, positioning, and cultural value of contemporary Armenian art. The platform operates at the intersection of curatorial practice, exhibition formation, art placement, cultural strategy, and institutional collaboration.

Jan Doms was invited by them to contribute artistically as one of the artists to the exhibition (23/09 - 26/09/2026) at the National Gallery in Yerevan, which runs parallel to the symposium.

The title of this glass installation is 'INFINITY'.
